Update about 26 Screenplays

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

The Dallas Screenwriters Associationn asked me to write a two-part series about writing and marketing the book ‘26 Short Screenplays for Independent Filmmakers.’

I will be posting excerpts from those articles on the blog over the next few weeks.

Also, I have quite a few of “fake trailer” scripts that need to be uploaded and shared. I hope to get those on the site over the next couple of weeks. Ideally, I want to get 26 fake trailer scripts posted by the end of the year, but right now, it looks like the number will be closer to 20. Stay tuned!

New Fake Trailer Script – The MacGuffin

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

In keeping with the theme of providing free fake trailer scripts on the bulletin board and blog, the MacGuffin script makes its debut.

A MacGuffin is a term coined by Alfred Hitchcock, meaning the object of the film that everyone is pursuing. Sometimes the object can be a big pile of money and sometimes the object can be an abstract concept. For example, in North by Northwest, the villain makes his trade in “secrets.”

These fake trailers use the same format and information that is in the book, giving everyone a free sample.

This MacGuffin fake trailer (and all the fake trailers, for that matter) are also available on Docstock and Scribd.
